Umbria is the only Italian wine region without a coastline or an international border… and potentially one of the most undervalued one. It’s got a very similar climate to its overshadowing Tuscan neighbour but still many treasures to be unveiled. It is primarily known for its crispy, dry white wines made from indigenous grape like Grechetto or Procanico (local Trebbiano) but also for the deep-coloured and antioxidants-rich Sagrantino red.
